Jackson Mumford joined the Bucknell men's lacrosse staff in the fall of 2025 after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at McDaniel College in Maryland.Â
Mumford began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at McDaniel during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, and he served as the program's interim head coach for a three-month stint during that period. Mumford, who played for head coach TC DiBartolo at Gettysburg, rejoined the Green Terror after spending the 2024 season as an assistant coach at Christopher Newport. The Captains finished the season ranked at No. 6 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches Poll with a 16-6 record after advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship. They had six All-Americans and advanced to the Coastal Lacrosse Conference championship game for the fourth-straight season.
In 2023, Mumford served as an assistant coach at Rhodes, where the Lynx went 12-6 record, marking a seven-win increase over the previous season and equaled the fourth-largest improvement in the NCAA. The team advanced to the semifinals of the Southern Athletic Association Men's Lacrosse Championship. While there, he mentored seven all-conference and three All-Region selections.
Mumford spent the 2022 season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Oberlin. The Yeomen posted a program-best 12-5 record and made its appearance in the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship.
A 2019 graduate of Gettysburg, Mumford earned All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention honors as a senior. That year, he served as a team captain and was selected to the USILA North-South Senior All-Star Game. He played in 41 games for the Bullets from 2017-19, guiding them to two NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship appearances, including a run to the national semifinals in 2018.
Mumford began his college playing career at Division I Towson in 2016, when the Tigers won the Colonial Athletic Association championship and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals.
Mumford received his bachelor's degree in English language and literature from Gettysburg in 2019 before completing a master's in secondary education and teaching at McDaniel in 2021.
