Sweeney joined Bucknell in February 2025. She directly covers football, wrestling, women's lacrosse and women's tennis for the Bison.
Prior to coming to Lewisburg, Sweeney worked at Cornell University as an athletics communications associate where she served as the media contact for sprint football, men’s and women’s polo, wrestling, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and equestrian.
Prior to her arrival at Cornell, Sweeney spent time at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Conn., where she served as an athletic communications intern. She was involved with men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s ice hockey and men’s and women’s basketball while at the college.
Sweeney received two degrees from Quinnipiac University, a bachelor of arts in journalism in 2023 and a master of science in sports journalism in 2024.
Sweeney was the first woman to run the sports network at Quinnipiac, overseeing a team and its coverage at the 2023 NCAA Men’s College Ice Hockey Championship, where the Bobcats won its first national championship in program history.Â
