Carly Moss was named senior associate director of athletics for strategic initiatives and leadership at Bucknell in November 2023. Moss spent the previous seven years as a member of the athletics leadership team at Yeshiva University,
In her new role at Bucknell, Moss took over a newly reimagined position on the Bison Athletics senior staff, with her primary responsibilities centered around identifying and managing emerging issues in the collegiate athletics landscape. Moss manages the department's strategic planning initiatives and adherence to University policies and procedures, and she works closely with colleagues across campus in the areas of human resources, legal affairs, Title IX, DEI, and student code of conduct.
Moss also serves as the sport administrator for women's lacrosse and men's and women's swimming and diving.
"I am very excited to welcome Carly to the Bison Athletics family, where she will take on important work related to the implementation of our strategic plan," said vice president for athletics and recreation Jermaine Truax at the time of her hire. "Carly has a keen interest in student-athlete welfare, and she will be working with constituents in many different areas on our campus to ensure that our student-athletes will have the best possible experience during their time at Bucknell."
Moss had previously served as associate athletic director, senior woman administrator, and athletics health care administrator at Yeshiva since November 2016. In that post, she was responsible for the administration and logistical planning for 15 varsity programs, including direct oversight of coaches, program budgets, practice and competition scheduling, NCAA compliance, and student-athlete certification. She also assisted in the creation of an Athletics Hall of Fame, which inducted its first class in the spring of 2017, and served as the department's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor.
Moss, whose background is in athletic training, oversaw the Yeshiva sports medicine and strength and conditioning staffs and managed all documentation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Moss created the Home Recreation & Wellness program for student-athletes to utilize during that time away from campus, and she chaired Skyline Conference committees on athletic training and the safe return to sports during the pandemic. A native of Marlboro, N.J., Moss is a 2013 graduate of West Chester University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in athletic training. From 2013-16, she served as the head athletic trainer with Professional Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, and she later served as the company's business relations coordinator.
Moss, who received a master of science degree in sports business from New York University's Tisch Institute for Sports Management, Media, and Business, worked as a certified athletic trainer at NYU before moving on to her post at Yeshiva.
Moss is certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATA-BOC). She is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports (formerly NACWAA), the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), and the Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey (ATSNJ). She also volunteers with the Special Olympics.
