Meghan Balum joins the Bucknell track and field coaching staff in 2016 as a volunteer assistant. Balum was an ACC Academic Honor Roll member while competing on the track and field team at the University of Virginia.
Balum was a standout student-athlete during her four-year career. She was an All-ACC performer from 2007-10, capturing three-consecutive ACC outdoor titles in the javelin. She competed in three-straight NCAA East Regional Meets, earning All-America honors in her junior and senior seasons.
Balum was a recipient of the Lou Honesty and Z-society Award in 2010, given to a member of the women’s track and field team for dedication, leadership and commitment to their respective sport. She was also a two-year member of the Virginia’s Student Athletic Advisory Council.
Balum graduated from Virginia in 2010, earning a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and sports medicine.
