Scott Heather: #WinforCoach - Bucknell University Athletics

Bucknell head baseball coach Scott Heather experienced a medical emergency during a team practice on Apr. 30, and in the weeks and months since then, the outpouring of love and concern from the Bucknell and Lewisburg communities has been truly inspiring. As Scott continues his challenging recovery, surrounded by family and friends, the Bison baseball team has remained steadfast in its mission to #WinforCoach.

As we prepare for the 2026-27 academic year, Jason Neitz will continue to serve as the team's acting head coach, joined by assistants Brett Smith and Josh Kieffer. In addition, former Mifflinburg High School and VCU standout Cade Dressler will be joining the program this year to work with the Bison pitching staff.

Scott and Emily's two daughters play youth softball, and Scott has been heavily involved with Lewisburg Little League. The non-profit organization has been running point on raising funds for the Heather family, and we encourage you to help support this wonderful family in any way possible. We echo Emily's recent note, where she wrote, "Thank you to every person who has prayed, sent a message, checked in, or supported our family in any way. We truly believe your prayers are carrying Scott through this journey, and we are deeply grateful for each and every one of you."
