Dear Bucknell Women’s Golf Community,
Many students can only dream of attending a university such as Bucknell. Being a student and representing the Bucknell women's golf team on and off campus is a privilege that has given me the best of both worlds. Growing up dreaming of playing Division I golf, I could have never imagined having the opportunities that Bucknell provided me. Playing some of the top golf courses in the country, traveling with my teammates, and having access to some of the best practice facilities an athlete could ask for has provided me with the most fulfilling collegiate experience.
Although I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, being away from home can be a hard transition for anyone. Upon arriving on campus, I felt like I had a second family and a home away from home. During my first week of freshman year, my teammates texted me that they were outside my freshman dorm and that we were headed to Starbucks. From then on, I knew I was in the right place with the right people. My teammates have become some of my best friends and lifelines, which has encouraged me to fully embrace every moment I have as a Bucknell Women's Golf team member.
Bucknell alumni have genuinely embraced our team and made my journey at Bucknell so special. In every tournament we play in, we receive texts from past and future alumni who take the time to follow us through our lengthy seasons. Our Bucknell alumni connections have followed us from Pennsylvania to Arizona, proving the strength of what it means to be a Bucknell student and alum. Without fail, the Bucknell community has shown up in extraordinary ways for their athletes, making Bucknell stand out from any other university.
Our program would be very limited without the help and support of the Bucknell faculty, parents, alumni, and friends. I have been blessed to call Bucknell home for three years and am thankful for all the opportunities I have had throughout my career thus far.
I feel fortunate to be a Bucknellian and have the opportunity to connect with amazing alumni who have shared experiences similar to mine. I speak for my whole team when I thank you for your continued support and for keeping our program in mind. Every text, donation, and supportive measure truly means the world to us and helps continue our program's legacy, and we could not do it without you!
’ray Bucknell !!!
