Dear Bucknell Cheerleading Family,
Â
After making Bucknell Cheerleading history last year by attending NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida, we are more than excited to share that the Bucknell Cheerleading Team has been granted a second opportunity to show our talent and skill on the mat in Daytona at NCA Cheer Nationals this coming spring. We have been working harder this season now, knowing what to expect, and we love to hear and see the support from our Cheer family as we prepare ourselves for the fierce competition once again.Â
Â
As a team, we are putting all our effort into our home games at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium and Sojka Pavilion while committing extra hours to work on skills beyond what Bucknell Cheer has ever accomplished. With every coming year and years past it is our goal to engage our community, the crowd, and the student body in Bucknell Athletics to create gameday environments like none other. We want to ensure Bison fans walk away from every home game with memories that will last a lifetime and an experience they will never forget!
Â
Being a Bucknell Cheerleader has given me experiences that have helped shape my teammates and me as individuals and competitors. Our team has shown versatility through multiple injuries and staffing changes that, in the end, have made us stronger and more united. Even when struggling to get through long days during preseason camp, when I know everyone is struggling and needs rest, I can always count on my teammates to create a positive environment and cheer each other on. After performing a perfect routine or accomplishing a new stunting skill, my teammates have always been there to cheer, clap, and praise me and others. I find myself on hard weeks drowning in academic work, counting down the minutes till I can go to practice and be surrounded by individuals and coaching staff that bring light and an infectious positive attitude to the air.Â
Â
Going into this year, I am so excited to continue to watch my team reach new heights that Bucknell Cheerleading has never seen, whether in Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium, Sojka Pavilion, or on the main stage in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Â
It is truly an honor to represent the Bucknell cheerleading team, and I am so grateful for your commitment to the program's growth. Your support has made it possible for me to enjoy my Bucknell experience, both academically and with the cheer team.
Â
Once again, we can’t wait to make you proud this season and show you how far we have come as a team.
Â
Go Bison!
