Dear Bucknell Women’s Rowing Community,
The Bucknell women's rowing team has given me so much this past year and a half, and it is an honor to reach out to you today. We just finished our first and only race of the fall, the Princeton Chase. It was a tough race with some really good competition, but the community atmosphere was the best part.
It was an honor to attend the Princeton Chase as the first crew to represent Bucknell. I was so proud, pushing for everyone as we went down the course together. Speaking for the whole team we are excited to continue working hard and reaching for our highest speeds come spring.
My teammates are family and this program is built on the friendships and bonds we all have with one another. I am so proud of every hard-working and strong woman on this team, they are my inspiration. This program and family would not be possible without you supporting it and empowering us.
I began my freshman year in the novice program, and after a ton of hard work, I was fortunate enough to be given an opportunity to be a part of the Varsity Eight come spring season. I never thought I would be competing at such a high level, but with the support and encouragement from everyone along the way, this team showed me what rowing really is.
On behalf of all my teammates and coaches, thank you for your support. Without it, we would not be able to grow and up-level as a program. Our oars are newly painted, we have a whole new set of uniforms and training gear, and our group of 10 recruited first-years is proving to be very strong. In addition, two eights of women will have the incredible opportunity to travel to Clemson, South Carolina for a winter training trip in January before the spring semester begins. Those are just a few of the experiences that are made possible by the continued support of our loyal alumni, parents, and friends. Thank you!
With another year of Bison Athletics in full swing, I am honored to share my experience with you. Your continued support, no matter the amount, is pivotal in ensuring that my teammates and I have all the essential resources that allow us to compete at the highest level.
Once again, thank you and we can’t wait to make you proud this season!
Go Bison!
