Dear Bucknell Men’s Lacrosse Community,
Growing up, competing was a part of my everyday life. It was never much of a choice for me. I
am the youngest of seven siblings, five boys and two girls. Everything we did was a competition,
whether it was the sports we played with each other or chores around the house. My four older
brothers, Chris, Guy, Alec, and Travis picked up lacrosse at a young age and quickly excelled.
As the youngest, I looked up to them and was eager to follow in their footsteps. Lacrosse
became a passion of mine, not only because of my love for the game itself but also because it
connected me to my family.
My oldest brothers, Chris and Guy, went on to play Division I lacrosse at the Naval Academy
and Saint Joseph’s University, setting a standard for myself and my other brothers to live up to.
Although I may not have known it at the time, my path to Bucknell began in 2013, when my
brother Alec committed to play lacrosse at Bucknell. Travis, a few years later, committed here as
well. As I watched my brothers move on to play lacrosse at Bucknell, it felt only right that I would
follow them and join the Herd.
Throughout my time here, the one thing that stands out most is the relationships I have made
with my teammates and coaches. I've found a second family in this program, one that pushes
me to be better every day, celebrates my successes, and picks me up after defeats. The
brotherhood we've built extends far beyond the field, creating bonds that I know will last a
lifetime.
The team continues to hone in on our four core values: Energy, Relentlessness, Smart, and
Selflessness. This year we have implemented an additional core value: Accountability. This core
value serves as a promise we make to one another every time we step onto the field to hold
each other to the highest standards. As a team, we believe if we uphold our core values and
hold each other accountable, we will be able to do what is required of us to bring home a Patriot
League championship.
As I continue my senior year, I feel incredibly honored to bring a long legacy to a close. Walking
the same paths my brothers once walked, practicing on the same field, and wearing the same
Orange and Blue fills me with immense pride. Bucknell has given me and my teammates all the
opportunities and resources we need to succeed on and off the field. Without the support of the
athletic department and faculty here on campus, my college experience would not be the same.
With another year of Bison Athletics in full swing, I am honored to share my experience
with our loyal alumni, families, and friends. My positive experience at Bucknell would not
be possible without the generosity of those who support our program. Your continued
support allows our program to compete at the highest level possible and reach our goal
of winning a Patriot League Championship.
Every day, I am filled with pride for being a part of this program and having the
opportunity to further my education at such an elite institution. Without the opportunity to
play lacrosse at Bucknell, I cannot imagine where I would be today. On behalf of my
teammates, coaches, and Bison Athletics, I would like to thank you for your immense
amount of support because none of this would be possible without you.
Go Herd!
