Dear Members of the Bucknell Men’s Soccer Community,
My name is Aidan Lawlor and I am a senior on the men’s soccer team here at Bucknell. Being a part of a program like this one has provided me with lifelong friendships and countless life lessons. While the term brotherhood is thrown around loosely quite often these days, I truly believe that I have gained a new family during my four years as a player here. During my college recruiting process, it was clear within my first few hours on campus that Bucknell was the place I wanted to be.
While the past few years have been somewhat of a work in progress, it is clear that this group has a strong mentality that has pushed us over the line in a lot of close games this year. We now have a group of extremely competitive guys that have taken on a “never say die” attitude, and that mentality put us in a position to win the 2024 Patriot League championship!
This year, we have had the opportunity to meet several members of the great 1970s-era teams, who have all given us insight into what it takes to be a winner. To see men’s soccer alumni from roughly fifty years ago care so deeply about the team speaks volumes about the strong connection players have with the program. We talk a lot about leaving the jersey in a better place, and I feel a special attachment to this message because of how much the program has given me.
I can confidently say that the most valuable lessons I have learned here have come from interactions with members of the Bucknell men’s soccer community. I have had the opportunity to meet amazing people during my time here, who have all been crucial in my growth as a teammate and leader. Whether this be alumni, parents, professors, or my teammates, you have all contributed so much to my experience here and for that, I cannot thank you enough. Bucknell is so special because of the people attached to it, and I could not imagine spending my college years anywhere else.
As the team is now in the midst of another Patriot League campaign, I am honored to share my experience with our loyal alumni, families, friends, and supporters. Your support, no matter the amount, is pivotal in ensuring that my teammates and I have the resources necessary to compete at the highest level.
On behalf of my coaches, teammates, and Bison Athletics, thank you for your support. My priceless experiences here would not have been possible without you.
‘ray Bucknell!
