Dear Bucknell Field Hockey Community,
Â
Bucknell Field Hockey holds a significance in my heart that exceeds verbal expression; nevertheless, I'll attempt to capture all it has offered me as well as my endless gratitude for these opportunities. In general terms, I have made lifelong friends, excelled in the classroom and on the field, and truly cultivated my identity by being blessed with the opportunity to join this program.
Â
Success in academics is a large part of our program. I have been able to balance both challenges on the field as well as in the classroom with the constant help of my teammates and coaches. As a STEM major, Bucknell has also offered me a more well-rounded education than I could have ever asked for. While being a student-athlete takes a lot of work, I have enjoyed every second of pursuing all of my passions in the classroom while also pursuing my goals on the field.
Â
One of my most fond memories with the program was my freshman season. Despite COVID-19 impacting all aspects of life that year, Bucknell Field Hockey continued to be my rock and made me look forward to each day. That year we started with a losing record but chose not to lose hope. After a huge win over American University, our energy shifted; we came together as one and we ended up winning the first Patriot League Title in the program's history. Following that success, we made it into the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament.
Â
Now midway through my final season with the program, I am extremely excited about the potential of this year's team down the stretch. We’ve got our eyes set on another Patriot League title, and I know we can make it happen.
Â
None of these incredible experiences I have had at Bucknell would be possible without your unwavering support through all kinds of initiatives, such as One Herd One Day in the spring and now during The Fall Charge. You all have made a tremendous impact, and the resources your contributions have enabled do not go unnoticed.
Â
With another year of Bison Athletics in full swing, I am honored to share my experience with our loyal alumni, families, and friends. Your support, no matter the amount, is pivotal in ensuring that my teammates and I have all the essential resources that allow us to compete at the highest level.
Â
I know I speak for my teammates, coaches, and Bucknell Field Hockey when I say that we feel immensely privileged to be part of such an amazing community. We look forward to making you proud this season and beyond!
Â
Go Bison!
