Dear Bucknell Volleyball Community,
Â
For as long as I can remember I had dreamed of being a college athlete. The opportunity to be a member of the Bucknell women’s volleyball team has surpassed everything I had ever imagined. From spending time with my teammates to engaging with my classmates and professors, to connecting with the local community, I am never short of encounters that allow me to call Bucknell my second home. Each day I look forward to being challenged on the court and in the classroom.
Â
As my junior season progresses, I can reflect on my experiences during my collegiate career here at Bucknell. Without a doubt, Bucknell provides resources that allow student-athletes to succeed. I am grateful for the support that is provided to us to help achieve our goals, both academically and athletically.
Â
Not only am I able to see the direct results of our team’s hard work, but I am continuously moving towards the academic goals I have set for myself. Without the support of my coaches, professors, and other administrators I would not be in the position I am in currently. These individuals are incredible leaders who put in extra time and effort for the betterment of our team.
Â
When I first arrived on campus four years ago, in my junior year of high school, I knew that Bucknell was right for me. With high academics, growing athletic programs, and a strong alumni engagement, Bucknell would be full of amazing opportunities. Little did I know how much of an impact this place would truly have on me. It is without question that we have a beautiful campus which I am fortunate enough to appreciate each and every day.Â
Â
However, it is not the campus that has shaped me into the person I am today, but the people who have made each moment worthwhile. The love and support that I have found among my teammates and peers is something that I hope everyone is able to experience.
Â
The volleyball team has been influential in shaping me as a person and leader. It has shown me the importance of working in a positive environment where we each work together for the achievement of a common goal. It is with this same mindset that I approach everyday problems that I am presented with. Importantly, we cannot do everything on our own. Rather, we find most success with the support of others, especially our community.
Â
My positive experiences at Bucknell have been a direct result of the supporters of our program. With another year of Bison Athletics in full swing, I am honored to share my experience with our loyal alumni, families, and friends. Every dollar helps ensure that my teammates and I have everything we need to compete at the highest level - from equipment to meals to an increased travel budget.
Â
I am incredibly grateful to represent Bucknell on the women’s volleyball team. I simply don’t know where I would be without this opportunity! On behalf of my coaches, teammates, and Bucknell Athletics, I would like to thank you for your support because none of this would be possible without you.
Â
Go Bison!
