Dear Bucknell Baseball Community,
Growing up I always loved competing in everything I did. It didn’t matter if it was a race on the playground or checkers against my friends. I wanted to win in everything I did. Baseball would be no different and it quickly not only became my passion, but soon it would be my obsession. The obsession to compete and improve quickly formed a clear goal for me, and that was to gain the opportunity to compete at the highest collegiate level. I was blessed to achieve this feat just 45 minutes away from home.
As I enter my senior year and look back on the past three years it’s amazing how much I’ve grown, both as a player and more importantly, as a person. Bucknell has given me the opportunity to meet my best friends and make countless unforgettable memories. Thanks to Bucknell’s exceptional staff, facilities, and resources, we have a great opportunity to succeed on the field as well as in the classroom.
I remember getting on campus for the first time when I was just 16, feeling amazed that this hidden gem was just south of where I grew up. After walking through the picturesque quad and sitting down with Coach Heather, I was blown away by how much the staff and the entire athletic department truly cared about the well-being of their student-athletes. After feeling the family-oriented atmosphere on my visit I knew this was the place for me.
Three years and 123 starts later I can firmly say that coming to Bucknell was the best decision I’ve ever made. I’ve been a part of a winning culture that has been 28-22 in Patriot League play the past two years, gone to the championship twice, beat the defending ACC champion Duke, and took down Penn State twice on its own field. However, winning is just one part of how special my experience has been.
The Bucknell baseball program has given me the opportunities to maximize my potential as a student and as a player all while making lifelong friendships. These feats are only possible because of our generous donors providing us with top-of-the-line facilities, travel, and equipment. With another year of Bison Athletics in full swing, I am honored to share my experience with our loyal alumni, families, and friends.
On behalf of all my teammates, coaches, and everyone involved with Bison Athletics, I would like to thank you for all of your support. The moment right before the first pitch during the National Anthem with my hand over Bucknell written across my chest is my proudest moment!
Go Bison!
