Dear Bucknell Women’s Rowing Community,
I am excited to write to you today with our fall racing season rapidly approaching. My teammates and I have been relentlessly training both on and off the water, preparing to find our maximum speed come spring. We continue to prioritize our three F’s - fast, family, and fun - ensuring that the pursuit of excellence is just as enjoyable as the excellence itself.
It is truly an honor to put on a Bucknell unisuit and represent the determined and powerful women of Bucknell Women’s Rowing. Being part of this team has given me a family of inspirational women and granted me many opportunities that would not have been possible without you.
In just my freshman year, I was lucky enough to fulfill my biggest rowing dream of racing on the Thames in Henley. Following this amazing experience, we traveled to Lucerne, Switzerland, where we got to row on the esteemed Rotsee, followed by a few days of sightseeing and eating chocolate.
Previously that year, I was so fortunate to be in the Varsity 8, whose success was an accumulation of all the hard work of my teammates, past and present. We beat Harvard for the first time in BUWR history and, more notably, won gold at the Patriot League Championships, earning us the honor of Boat of the Year.
We could only have these amazing opportunities because of your support. These experiences gave us momentum to carry us into the next few years of growth as a full team. This last season we grew our community in numbers and bonds, enhancing our time at Bucknell.
On behalf of my teammates and coaches, thank you for your support. It allows us to continue to elevate our program. Through new boats, travel accommodations, our annual training trip, and a new fleet of BikeErgs, we deeply appreciate your support and it does not go unnoticed.
With another year of Bison Athletics in full swing, I am honored to share my experience with our loyal alumni, families, and friends. Your continued support, no matter the amount, is pivotal in ensuring that my teammates and I have all the essential resources that allow us to compete at the highest level.
Once again, thank you and we can’t wait to make you proud this season!
Go Bison!
