Fall Charge -- Caroline Dingler (Women's Basketball)

Dear Bucknell Women's Basketball Community,
Â
As a young girl, I always knew I wanted to continue to play in college. Freshman year coming in, I knew I had fulfilled at least the very minimum of getting there. What I didn’t know was where my journey would lead me and how much my sport would teach me in terms of life, especially here at Bucknell.
Â
Season after season, I have been presented with a new challenge that would force me to change my perspective and, more than anything, grow as a person. As I enter my senior season, the main thing I can do is reflect on the challenges I have overcome and, mainly, the people and teammates I now see as family.
Â
While each challenge has come and gone, the family I have made here has always remained consistent. Through basketball at Bucknell, I have learned the importance of finding the people who will push you to be your best self and constantly strive for more. More than that, I have found people who love and support me, which allows me to feel comfortable doing so, especially with my teammates. Through my team, I have learned the importance of communication and teamwork to overall success, which I can apply in all aspects of my life in the future.
Â
So, as I prepare for the MCAT in the spring and eventually medical school, I can’t help but feel prepared for all that is to come, reflecting on my time spent here at Bucknell. The competitive and exceptional environment of the athletics department has allowed me to see how I can succeed even when things get hard. The classes at Bucknell are no exception from this environment as well, pushing me even further.
Â
As we enter the 2023-2024 season here at Bucknell, I am excited for the next big challenge my teammates and I will face, but more importantly, the wins and losses we will grow from together.
Â
On behalf of my coaches, team, and Bucknell Athletics, I would like to thank you for your support because, once again, none of this would be possible without you.
Â
Go Bison!
