Jack Dillane & Caitlyn Scott Named Bison of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell men's water polo went 2-0Â and women's soccer held Holy Cross to a scoreless draw last Saturday. In recognition of their accomplishments, Bucknell Athletics named the duo Bison of the Week.Â
Dillane served as the centerpiece for a Bison attack that racked up 47 goals in two conference wins against Mercyhurst and Route 15 Rival Mount St. Mary's. He scored two goals against Mercyhurst while drawing three exclusions and three penalties. In Bucknell's 27-point outburst against the Mount, Dillane led the team with five goals. The Mountaineers battered the stout Bison with seven exclusions and three drawn penalties. The Orange & Blue's 27 goals were the most in program history since scoring 34 against Johns Hopkins in 1994.
The Bison junior is second on the team in goals (35) and third in points (71). He has drawn 83 exclusions, by far the most on the squad.Â
Bucknell has won five straight games and sits 8-6 overall and 3-1 in MAWPC action. The Bison welcome two more conference this weekend when George Washington and Navy venture to Kinney Natatorium.Â
Caitlyn Scott has made an immediate impact for the Bison women's soccer team since being inserted into the starting lineup three games ago, and she was all over the field in Saturday's scoreless draw with Holy Cross. Playing a defensive-oriented holding midfield position, Scott won numerous 50-50 balls throughout the day and was part of a unit that limited the Crusaders to only three shots on target.Â
The senior made her first career start two weeks ago against No. 23 Villanova and contributed to a clean sheet against the high-powered Wildcats. In her three starts, Scott has played the full 90 minutes in all three, and the Bison have allowed only one goal in that span, that coming on a penalty kick against Lehigh.Â
The Bison are 1-0-1 in Patriot League play heading into a Wednesday night's conference game at Lafayette.Â
