LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men's basketball fans will have an early opportunity to check out a new-look 2026-27 squad when the team hosts an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday evening at Sojka Pavilion. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 5 p.m., with first tip slated for 5:30 p.m.
Head coach John Griffin III will introduce the team, and fans are invited to stick around for autographs following the scrimmage.
The Bison have 11 newcomers on this year's roster, including seven true freshmen and four transfers. They join experienced returnees in senior Pat O'Brien, juniors Jayden Williams, Aleksander Pachucki, Matt Lange, and Kellen Welch, and sophomore Jacob Meachem.
Bucknell will have two closed scrimmages later this month, and then on Oct. 24 fans can get their first look at the team against live competition when Hall-of-Famer Kevin Bettencourt '06 brings his Endicott team to Sojka for an exhibition game. The evening will also serve as a fundraiser for ALS research in honor of Pat Behan '10, who is battling the debilitating disease. Bettencourt's Gulls team will be preparing to build on one of its finest seasons. Endicott finished 28-2 overall and 16-0 in the Conference of New England, won the CNE Tournament title, and then advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Tickets to the Endicott game, along with season ticket packages and other single-game tickets, are now on sale.
The Bison officially open the 2026-27 campaign at Maryland on Monday, Nov. 2, with the home opener to follow against Old Dominion on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m.
