LEWISBURG, Pa.- Tyler Bienus' sophomore season has witnessed the 184-pound wrestler break into the starting lineup and become of Bucknell's most dependable options. The second-year grappler continued his strong 2025-26 campaign with a 3-0 day at the Davidson Duals. The peerless mark earned him Bison of the Week as announced Tuesday by the Bucknell Athletics Department.Â
Bienus' 3-0 record included a major decision and an upset win over a ranked foe. He defeated North Dakota State's Aidan Brenot in a gritty 4-2 decision. Brenot was ranked #27. Bienus then vanquished Davidson's Cody Kirk in a decisive 11-0 major decision. He completed the day with a 2-0 decision over Brown's Connor O'Donnell. His efforts enabled Bucknell to finish 2-1 at the Davidson Duals with victories over Brown and the host school. The Bison lost to NDSU on tiebreaker criteria.Â
Bienus sits at 13-8 overall and 8-3 in duals. He owns a solid 2-2 mark against ranked foes. The sophomore placed sixth at the Midlands Championships in December, as part of the team's third place finish - the highest in Bucknell history.Â
The wrestling program has now earned three of the last four Bison of the Week awards.Â
Bucknall faces EIWA rival Army this Sunday at West Point.Â
