Cameron Lloyd Wins Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week Award
9/23/2025 2:01:00 PM | Volleyball
LEWISBURG, Pa.- Cameron Lloyd played a decisive defensive role in Bucknell's 2-0 weekend over Lehigh and Lafayette and the Patriot League conference office announced the Bison junior won the weekly award Tuesday afternoon. It marked the first time since Oct. 30, 2000 when Brandi Trapasso received the honor that a Bucknell player earned the award. The laurel was discontinued in 2001 but returned for the 2025 season.Â
Lloyd, an outside hitter her first two seasons in Lewisburg, switched to libero after Jordan Hardy's (the program's leader in career digs) graduation. The selfless move has paid dividends for the Bison, as Lloyd's presence has anchored and stabilized the back line.Â
Her prowess was evident against the two fellow Pennsylvania Patriot League schools. She collected 48 digs in six sets, averaging an impressive six digs per set. She had a sterling 1.000 percent on 44 reception chances. Lloyd added two service aces.Â
She notched 27 digs against Lehigh in Bucknell's four-set win over the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh grabbed the first set before the Bison reverted the momentum and won the next three stanzas. Against Lafayette, she supplied 21 digs in another four-set victory.Â
Her 4.40 digs per set slot fourth in the conference and 49th nationally.Â
Bucknell heads to Holy Cross on Sept. 26 and faces reigning league champion Colgate on Sept. 27 in a potential showdown of two unbeaten conference teams.Â
