
Sidney Shaffer Awarded Patriot League Volleyball Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Sidney Shaffer played a key role in Bucknell's 2-1 weekend at the Binghamton Invitational and the conference voters awarded the middle blocker with Patriot League Volleyball Player of the Week. It marks Shaffer's first weekly award since Oct. 24, 2023 when she landed Rookie of the Week.Â
Shaffer dominated the attack for the Bison, recording a weekend-high 47 kills for a sparkling 3.92 kills per set. Her hitting percentage was a robust .442. Defensively, she recorded eight total blocks.Â
The junior posted double-digit kills in every game. She tied her career-high in kills (18) in the four-set win over Canisius, supplied 12 in the sweep over Mercyhurst, and notched 17 in the five-set heartbreaker versus Binghamton.Â
Her .316 hitting percentage ranks fourth in the loop.Â
The Bison open conference play this Friday versus Lehigh.Â
