LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's basketball squad has been invited to participate in the 2025 Skechers Fort Myers Tip-Off, tournament organizer Intersport announced on Monday. The Bison will join Bowling Green, Buffalo, and VMI in the Palms Division, with games scheduled for Nov. 24 and 26 at Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College.
Game times will be announced in the coming weeks, but the predetermined matchups will pit Bucknell against the two Mid-American Athletic Conference teams, Bowling Green and Buffalo, in the Thanksgiving Week event. The Beach Division will feature Michigan State, North Carolina, St. Bonaventure, and East Carolina, with those games slated for Nov. 25 and 27.
Event travel packages will become available on July 23 and will include tickets to all games of the Palms Division, hotel accommodations, and parking at the venue. Ticket-only packages will be available in August.
Bucknell's inclusion in the Skechers Fort Myers Tip-Off continues a long tradition of competing in early season tournaments in destination cities. In recent years, the Bison have appeared in events in Honolulu, Las Vegas, Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Cancun.
The Bison went 18-15 overall and 13-5 in the Patriot League in head coach John Griffin III's second season at the helm in 2024-25. Bucknell will play Bowling Green for the first time ever, and the Bison will face Buffalo for the first time since Dec. 18, 1965, a 72-61 Bulls win in Buffalo.
