Gabriel Pecaitis Wins Patriot League Men's Co-Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Freshman Gabriel Pecaitis has already vaulted himself into select company among Bison vaulters and the league office notice of his performance at the Bison Outdoor Classic, awarding Patriot League Men's Co-Rookie of the Week.

Pecaitis cleared 15-11.25 in the select pole vault invite, finishing in a tie for second place with a Cornell junior. His clearance inserted him into seventh all-time in Bucknell history for the outdoor pole vault. The rookie began his collegiate career by slotting sixth all-time in Bucknell history with a 15-11.75 performance.

The freshman has displayed remarkable consistency in his outdoor season, finishing second three times and third once in his competitions. He finished first twice during the indoor season and will look for his first outdoor win this weekend at the Bucknell Team Challenge.

As mentioned, the Bison will host the annual Bucknell Team Challenge this weekend on April 19 and will hold a Senior Day ceremony afterward.
