LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell rowing team will have two eights and two fours entered in this weekend's Knecht Cup, which is one of the largest collegiate regattas on the East Coast. The two-day event takes place on the Cooper River, one of three appearances on the Cooper for the Bison this spring. The team raced here two weeks ago at the Doc Hosea Invitational, and the 2025 Patriot League Championship will be contested here on May 16.
The Bison have performed well in their first two events of the spring. The team's sixth-place finish at the Doc Hosea was its best ever, and then last weekend at the Saint Joseph's Invitational the Bison won the Third Varsity Eight, placed second in the Second Varsity Eight, and took fourth in the Varsity Eight.
On Saturday, Bucknell's Varsity Four will race at 8:58 a.m. against Canisius, Villanova, Jacksonville, Stetson, and Scranton. The 2V4+ goes off at 9:22 a.m. in a heat with MIT, Lehigh, Fordham, and Connecticut.
The Varsity Eight rows at 10:58 a.m. against Lehigh, La Salle, UMass, Duquesne, and Canisius. The 2V8+ races at 2:13 p.m. against Duquesne, UConn, Wisconsin, and Fairfield.
Next up for the Bison is the Ford Lake Cup, hosted by Eastern Michigan on Ford Lake in Ypsilanti.
