LEWISBURG, Pa.- Head coach Tyler Hagstrom completed his 2025 coaching staff by hiring Kristen Sipling as assistant coach. Sipling joins Bucknell after a successful stint as head coach at Alvernia University.Â
"I am really excited to have Kristen join my staff," said Hagstrom. "Her experience as a Division III head coach brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of what it takes to build a successful program. I am confident she will make an immediate impact with the players, and I'm looking forward to working together to keep pushing the program forward."
"Bucknell is an opportunity that makes me excited to pursue a career as a full-time coach and continue my growth with the program Coach Hagstrom has established," said Sipling.Â
After a record-breaking career at Alvernia, her alma mater hired Sipling as head coach in January 2020. In 2023, she led Alvernia to its first winning season since 2017 when the Wolves went 13-9. Sipling raised the floor during her tenure recording double-digit wins every season after inheriting a 4-15 squad. She accomplished the improvement despite holding a full-time job with Pepperidge Farms in their human resources department.Â
As a player, Sipling shattered the career kills record (1,315), was a two-time MAC Commonwealth All-Conference honoree, and received Honorable All-American honors. During her senior season, Sipling earned the prestigious MAC Senior Scholar award for her achievements in the classroom and on the court. She won AVCA All-Region and All-ECAC First Team laurels. Sipling also helped lead Alvernia to its first MAC Commonwealth playoff victory since joining the conference when Alvernia upset Messiah in the 2017 MAC tournament. In 2017, she finished fourth nationally with 540 kills.Â
Sipling graduated from Alvernia in 2018 with a BA in English and an MBA in 2020.Â
