Ashley Sofilkanich Named to Patriot League Women’s Basketball Academic All-League Team

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Ashley Sofilkanich's dominance does not end off the court. The sophomore forward stars in the classroom as well and received a slot on the Patriot League Women's Basketball Academic All-League Team as announced Monday by the conference office.
Sofilkanich was the only underclassman on the squad. The Bison forward, a Political Science major, posted a 3.33 GPA during the fall 2024 semester and holds a cumulative mark of 3.57.
The Orange & Blue sophomore was recently named the 2024-25 Patriot League Player of the Year - the fifth Bison woman to receive the honor, and notched a spot on the First Team and made the All-Defensive squad for the second straight season.
Sofilkanich wrecked havoc on the Patriot League, averaging a league-high 19.6 points per game and topping the conference in blocks per game (2.3), double-doubles (10), field goals made (220), and points (569). She finished third in field goal percentage (.502), rebounds per game (8.5), and total rebounds (247). She collected a league-high five Patriot League Player of the Week awards.
The Bison, because of tiebreakers, earned the sixth seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Bucknell's run to its fifth title starts Monday night at three-seeded Colgate. The tip is scheduled for 6 p.m., and the game will be streamed on ESPN+. The Orange & Blue swept the season series with Colgate.
