Caffrey's Call
"We are excited to play this weekend after having a weekend to make some adjustments and recalibrate. This season is just getting started for us and I think there is just a really solid feeling of confidence in what we are building right now. This weekend is an opportunity to see how we make adjustments in a 3 game series and almost mimic what our conference games will feel like."

The Inside "Herd" on the Bison
- Bucknell began the 2025 season at the Texan Classic going 1-4. The Bison defeated Arkansas Pine Bluff 12-1 in five innings but lost twice to McNeese State and once to Marist and host team Tarleton State.Â
- Shea Malone saw her first action since an injury prematurely ended her 2024 season. The outfielder batted .600 (9 of 15) with four RBIs and one double. Her hot start won the sophomore her first Patriot League Player of the Week award.Â
- MaKenzie Hilling batted .462 with two doubles and three RBIs.Â
- Bella Radican gave the crowd a jolt with her opposite field home run. It was Radican's first collegiate home run.Â
- Freshmen Kate Dailor, Tori Kirkpatrick, Payton Hale, Hailey McCutchan, Skye Perez, and Reagan Powell all made their collegiate debuts at the Texan Classic.Â
Inclement weather canceled Delaware State's opening games versus Manhattan and Siena. The team finally started its season yesterday with two games rescheduled from Feb. 8 against Division II Virginia Union. Delaware State had no problems with the lower tier foe stinging them 12-0 and 13-3. DSU is hitting .519 with a team ERA of 1.40. The Hornets are projected to finish seventh in the eight-member MEAC and did not place a single player on the two preseason league teams.Â
History with the Foe
Bucknell and Delaware State have met five times with the Bison holding a slim 3-2 advantage. The series began in 2002 with a 10-6 Bucknell win. The latest contest came in 2019 - a hearty 11-4 Orange & Blue triumph.Â
