LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison volleyball team roared to a 5-1 start in 2024, buoyed by a 3-0 weekend at the Tribe Invitational. Senior libero Jordan Hardy has been the forefront of the hot start with her stellar play in the backcourt. The Patriot League office recognized her efforts by granting her Player of the Week Tuesday. It is Hardy's first Player of the Week Award.Â
Hardy was everywhere on the court during the three games. The senior collected 67 digs in the team's 11 sets, averaging just over digs per set. Her 33 digs were instrumental in Bucknell's five-set win over William & Mary. She collected 16 digs against George Mason and 18 digs against Quinnipiac as the Bison swept both opponents.Â
The Preseason Libero of the Year broke Bucknell's career digs record during the George Mason win, surpassing Brandi Trapasso's previous mark of 1588. Hardy currently sits 1616 digs, ranking ninth in Patriot League history and only four away from eighth. She ranks first in the Patriot League in digs per set by a healthy margin and sits 18th nationally.Â
She provided some offensive push with four service aces. Hardy recorded three aces against Quinnipiac, one of which ended the first set in a 26-24 Bucknell victory and set the tone for the eventual sweep. Her nine service aces on the league rank tied for third in the circuit.Â
Hardy and the Bison complete nonconference play this weekend at the Ellicott Hotels Western New York Invitational with three matches.Â
