Sample Earns Bronze in 100-Meter Dash at the U.S. Paralympic Team Trials

MIRAMAR, Fla.- Rayven Sample '24 won bronze in the 100-meter dash in the T45-47 Divisions on Saturday morning at the U.S. Paralympic Team Trials.
Results
Sample's time of 11.44 finished third overall, and as the only runner in the T45 field, clinched first in his division. The graduated Bucknell dashman obtained a solid get-off and kept a solid clip through the first 50 meters. Sample reached into his fuel reserves and added a final burst to gain his bronze standing.
Korban Best, of the T47 Division, finished first among the categories, racing 10.80. Tanner Wright, a T46 runner, led his division, running 10.99 for second overall. Wright also placed second yesterday in the 400-meter dash behind Sample. T47's Parker Harvey finished fourth (12.06) and T46's Maximilian Allabaugh raced in 12.35.
Sample won the 400-meter dash yesterday and will learn tomorrow if his two medals and times qualify him for the final roster of 28 athletes. He previously made the team for the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics, finishing eighth in the 400-meter dash.
The Public Team Announcement for the 2024 Paris Paralympics will be on Sunday, July 21 at 9:30 am EST at the Miramar Cultural Center. The doors will open at 9:00 am EST.
