LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior midfielder Emily Baird on Wednesday earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Team for the second year in a row. Baird was one of 12 student-athletes named to the squad from across the entire 10-team league.
Baird served as a team co-captain during her senior year and was once again one of the league's top two-way midfielders. She recorded 17 goals and five assists for 22 points and also collected 18 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers, and 25 draw controls.
Including her five-goal game against Villanova early in the 2024 campaign, Baird finished her career with 41 goals, 19 assists, 60 points, 69 ground balls, 61 caused turnovers, and 72 draw controls. The 61 caused turnovers are 10th-most in team history.
Off the field, Baird majored in biomedical engineering but also studied on a business track, and after she graduates in a few weeks she will be working in healthcare investment banking with Jefferies in New York City. The Dallas, Texas native carries a stellar 3.87 cumulative grade-point average in that challenging courseload.
Navy's Tori DiCarlo was selected as the 2024 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Also making the Academic All-Patriot League squad were American's Jenna Walls, Army's Madeline Lenkart and Meghan Pedrani, Holy Cross' Lauren Drillock and Sally Zinsner, Lafayette's Lexie Coldiron, Lehigh's Gabby Schneider, Loyola's Sydni Black and Chase Boyle, and Navy's Grace Peterson.
Baird joined former teammate Ella Payer (2022-23), Katelyn Miller (2012-14), Eve Lukowski (2016-19), and Jessie Britton (2018-19) on the list of Bison who have made multiple appearances on the All-Academic Team, which originated in 2011.
