Taylor McClain Named Patriot League Women’s Lax Attacker of the Week, Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell junior Taylor McClain was one of the catalysts in a 16-goal performance in Saturday's win over Boston University, and on Monday she collected Patriot League Attacker of the Week and Bison Athlete of the Week honors.
McClain registered three goals and three assists for a season-high six points in Bucknell's come-from-behind win in its Patriot League opener. The Bison trailed 10-6 at the half, and then in the first five minutes of the third quarter, she scored a goal and assisted on the next two to make it a 10-9 game. After Taylor Kopan gave the Bison their first lead of the day at 14-13 with 5:45 left in the fourth quarter, McClain scored a key insurance goal with 2:39 to go.
The win was Bucknell's first against Boston University since 1996, and the Terriers had won all nine previous meetings since joining the Patriot League in 2014.
McClain now has four goals and a team-high nine assists for 13 points in seven games this season. With 54 career assists, she has moved into fifth place on Bucknell's all-time list.
Now 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the Patriot League, the Bison will be back in action on Saturday at Holy Cross at 1 p.m.
