LEWISBURG, Pa.- Senior Jordan Hardy concluded her career as Bucknell's finest libero and arguably one of the best patrolling the Patriot League landscape. She added to her bulging trophy case by winning ECAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year as announced Monday by the venerable organization. She also notched a spot on the All-ECAC First Team.Â
Full ECAC Release
Hardy completed the 2024 season as the Bison's leader in career digs with 1986, passing the previous record holder Brandi Trapasso's 1588. The total ranks fourth in Patriot League history. She repeated as Patriot League Libero of the Year for the second consecutive year and earned All-Patriot League First Team honors.
This was Hardy's fourth straight season leading the Bucknell defense as the mainstay against enemy attacks, collecting 475 digs in 26 matches averaging 5.16 per set - first in the Patriot League and 11th nationally. Hardy's overall digs missed 500+ for the first time since her freshman campaign due to Bucknell collecting 16 sweeps limiting her opportunity for volume stats. The Bison finished eighth nationally in digs per set (17.96).Â
The AVCA (American Volleyball Coaching Association) again recognized Hardy by granting her All-Region Honorable Mention for the East Coast. The libero owns the only two AVCA awards in program history; Hardy received Regional Honorable Mention honors in 2023.
Bucknell volleyball achieved its best winning percentage (.808) in school history finishing 21-5 and unlocking the program record for conference wins (13) in a season. Hardy repeated her success in the classroom earning Academic All-Patriot League honors for the second straight season.
The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-five-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II, and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments, and other competitions throughout the Northeast.
