LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison volleyball went 2-0 against Navy & American and junior outside hitter Bri Frazilus played a massive role in Bucknell's perfect weekend. The league office acknowledged her contributions by awarding her Patriot League Volleyball Player of the Week. This is Frazilus's first Player of the Week award.Â
Frazilus collected 26 kills on the weekend. She posted 12 against Navy in the Bison's second sweep of the Midshipmen and had 14 points thanks to two block assists. The outside hitter was active defensively with three digs.Â
She saved her best game against league powerhouse American posting 14 kills on a strong .379 hitting percentage leading Bucknell to its first-ever sweep of the Eagles. Her overall stat line included 16 points, four digs, and three blocks. The win placed first place Bucknell two games above American in the standings and marked only the second season sweep of the Eagles in program history.Â
The junior has established a rebound year in 2024 after a mild 2023 campaign coming off winning the 2022 Patriot League Rookie of the Year. Her 262 kills outdistance her 2023 mark of 171 by nearly 100, despite most of the Orange & Blue's wins coming in three sets. She has an excellent shot at 300+ since the Bison still have four regular season games remaining including one guaranteed postseason game as Bucknell has clinched a tournament spot.
Frazlius ranks first in the conference in kills per set (3.64) and second in points per set (3.93). Her kills per set mark ranks 105th nationally.Â
The Bison hit the road this weekend to play Holy Cross (Nov. 8) and Army (Nov. 9) in the final road two-game weekend. Bucknell remains a half game up (11-1) on Colgate (11-2) in the conference standings. Bucknell and Colgate will meet in the regular season finale at Davis Gym on Nov. 16.Â
