LEWISBURG, Pa. – Single-game and season tickets for Bucknell men's and women's basketball home games are now on sale via the new Bucknell Hoops ticketing site, powered by Jump. Fans can purchase tickets now via the website, and in the coming days a new mobile ticketing and gameday app will be released.
After playing its first three games on the road at Delaware, Southern Indiana, and Kentucky, the Bucknell men host Mount St. Mary's in their home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. The women's squad starts the season with back-to-back away games at Penn State and Pittsburgh as part of a four-game road stretch, and their Sojka Pavilion debut will also be against Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.
Second-year head coach John Griffin III brings back a Bucknell squad that is expected to be among the favorites in the Patriot League this season after the Bison finished in a tie for second place in the regular-season standings a year ago. The Bison will have to replace top scorer Jack Forrest, but they return their next six scoring leaders, including Third Team All-Patriot League selection Noah Williamson. The 7'0" center is looking to build on a breakout sophomore campaign, when he averaged 12.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game. Bucknell also returns two senior guards in Elvin Edmonds IV (10.8 ppg) and Josh Bascoe (9.4 ppg), who combined for over 200 assists in 2023-24.
In addition to the home opener against Mount St. Mary's, the Bison will also host two of the top teams from the Atlantic 10 in Richmond and St. Bonaventure, along with NJIT and Rider. They will have their usual nine home Patriot League games, starting Jan. 5 against Colgate in a rematch of last year's Patriot League Tournament semifinal that came down to the final shot.
Trevor Woodruff's women's squad will be young and exciting this season with nine newcomers in the fold after the Bison finished 9-9 and tied for fifth place in the Patriot League a year ago. Senior captain Isabella King, one of the leading 3-point shooters in team history, returns along with standout sophomore forward Ashley Sofilkanich, who was the 2024 Patriot League Rookie of the Year as well as a member of the All-Patriot League Third Team and the All-Defensive Team.
Bucknell hosts Youngstown State on Saturday, Nov. 23 to kick off a whirlwind women's basketball/football/men's basketball tripleheader that day, and in December the Bison will entertain Vermont, Dartmouth, and Hofstra at Sojka Pavilion. Bucknell opens the Patriot League slate at home on Jan. 2 against Lehigh.
As part of the run-up to the start of the season, the men's and women's teams will co-host a free youth clinic on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 4-5 p.m. at Sojka Pavilion. The Bison men's team will host its annual Tip-Off Reception at Brendan's Towne Tavern on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 7-9 p.m.
