Allie Boyce Named to Preseason All-Patriot League Women’s Lax Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell junior Allie Boyce has earned a spot on the 2024 Preseason All-Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Team as she looks to build on the second 50-goal season in team history. Boyce was one of nine attackers named to the 16-player squad, which was announced Wednesday by the league office.
After scoring 36 goals as a freshman in 2022, Boyce exploded for 50 on the way to Second Team All-Patriot League honors last season. She led the league in goals per game (3.13) and led the entire nation in shooting percentage (.649), free-position percentage (.793), and free-position goals per game (1.44).
Boyce's 50 goals were just two shy of Sue Gray's school record, set all the way back in 1984. In one of the performances of the year in college lacrosse, Boyce tied Gray's team record with 10 goals in a win over American, and she did it on perfect 10-for-10 shooting.
Boyce enters the 2024 season with 86 career goals and needs only 13 to jump into the top 10 on Bucknell's all-time list.
Four-time defending champion Loyola, which has never lost a Patriot League regular-season game since joining the conference in 2014, received the maximum 18 first-place votes and was picked first in the league's preseason poll. Army West Point was the No. 2 choice, followed by Navy and Lehigh. Bucknell was selected ninth.
Loyola also garnered three of the four major preseason awards. Junior attacker Georgia Latch was picked as the Preseason Player of the Year; junior Lily Osborne as the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year; and junior Lauren Spence as the Goalkeeper of the Year. Army sophomore Brigid Duffy was selected as the Preseason Midfielder of the Year.
Boyce and the Bison open the 2024 season at home against Penn State on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The Nittany Lions are ranked 14th in the USA Lacrosse Preseason Poll.
