Men’s Tennis Claims Three Singles Titles on Day Two at Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Amar Tahirovic, Tim Zelikovsky, and Liam Kilmer all won flight championships in singles on the second day of the NateRentals.com Binghamton Championships on Saturday. Seven of Bucknell's eight entrants reach the finals of their respective flights, and three claimed titles to remain unbeaten on the season.

Tahirovic won the Lane Draw – the top singles flight – with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Tanner Bedard of Niagara. Kilmer downed Daniils Snaiders of Buffalo in the Noble (E) Draw, and Zelikovsky defeated Daniel Zhou of Army in the Sussman (F) Draw.

Tahirovic, Kilmer, and Zelikovsky all improved to 8-0 in singles this fall.

Adam Stavrakas, Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega, Brendan McDonald, and Will Robinson all fell in their singles finals, with Bain and Robinson dropping third-set super tiebreakers.

Doubles play also continued on Saturday, and it was a 2-0 day for Tahirovic and McDonald against a pair of Colgate tandems. They added a third win on Sunday, beating the Binghamton pair of Ronin Lotlikar and Andrew Fang 6-1.
