"The rainy weather made for a long, tough day at the Penn Relays: however, I thought our athletes competed very well," said head coach Kevin Donner. "Boyce highlighted the women's meet with a win in the college high jump and Tereska made the final in the javelin. Our women are in Saturday's final in the collegiate 4x100-meter relay and our 4x400-meter relay team finished well above our seed in the Championship of America section."Â
Boyce leaped to a mark of 5-6 1/2 in her event-winning effort. Her performance was two inches higher than the second-place finisher. Abby Kates also competed in the high jump and finished eighth with a mark of 5-2 1/2.Â
Brylee Tereska continued her impressive rookie campaign by finishing eighth in the javelin throw. She tossed the javelin a distance of 125-4. Riley Beebe placed 16th with a throw of 115-0.Â
The 4x100-meter relay quartet of Bridget Lalonde, Meghan Quinn, Lila Gaughan, and Karen Hull won their heat section, qualified for Saturday's final, and finished third overall in the heat portion on a time of 46.79.Â
The distance medley relay quartet of Abby Paczewski, Anna Posh, Mariana Engleby, and Ally Clarke placed 12th with a time of 11:58.21.Â
The 4x400-meter relay grouping of Katherine Loew, Jessie Castellano, Meghan Quinn, and Bridget Lalonde finished 13th with a speed of 3:49.59.
