Women's Tennis Advances to PL Semifinals with 4-0 Victory over Colgate

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Bucknell women's tennis team pulled off a clean 4-0 sweep over Colgate in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League Tournament Friday morning and will advance to Saturday's semifinals. Bucknell clinched the doubles point, and three earned singles wins during the victory.
Whitney King, Anna Lajos and Abby Platt were all winners in singles, and each won in two sets. Meanwhile, Tyne Miller, Kate Novak and Caroline Marcus were all in the middle of their singles matches before the contest was clinched.
Madi Sebulsky and Caroline Marcus opened the match with a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles, and the point was clinched when King and Platt won 6-1 at the No. 1 position. King and Platt have won six in a row in doubles.
King, playing at No. 1 singles, defeated Colgate's Amelia Galin 6-2, 7-5. Lajos won 6-0, 6-1 over Emme Levenson at No. 2 singles. Platt defeated Jordan Ben-Shmuel 7-5, 6-4 at No. 4 singles to end the day for the Bison.
Bucknell is advancing to the Patriot League semifinals for the third time in the last five years. The Bison will face top-seeded Boston U. at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
