"We got exactly what we needed out of this meet," said head coach Kevin Donner. "It was a rust buster after the spring break layover and the wet and colder weather was an obstacle, however, the majority of the team had the right mindset and competed well. I have always felt that times and distances are irrelevant in March and it is just about competing. The marks we use for Patriot League seeding usually come from one of our last three regular-season meets. With that said, we had some great highlights, including Abby Kates winning the high jump with a school record jump. This was a nice setup meet for next week's Colonial Relays."Â Â
Abby Kates headlined for the Bison by winning the high jump, thus setting a school record. Her mark of 5-7 ¾ beat the previous record of 5-7 ¼ set by Taylor O'Brien in 2019. Kates's previous best was 5-6 ½ registered back in 2021. Olivia Boyce (5-5) and freshman Madeline Lehker (5-1 ¾) finished second and third in the event.
Siobhan O'Sullivan picked up where from her record-breaking indoor season left off by winning first place in the shot put. The junior thrower hurled for a distance of 43-0 ¼.
Madison McGloin grabbed first place in the hammer throw on a distance of 162-9. Anne Glenning finished second with her placement of 148-7.
Tori Chace, a freshman, opened her outdoor career with a first-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase. Her time of 12:10.36 was over eight seconds faster than the second-place competitor.
Bucknell had the top-2 finishers in the 1500m. Ally Clarke won first place with her time of 4:51.54. Mariana Engleby's time of 4:52.16 earned second place.
Abby Eisold finished first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.90.
