Women's Swim & Dive Places Five on 2023 All-Patriot League Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Five members of the Bucknell women's swimming & diving team earned spots on the 2023 All-Patriot League Team, the league announced Wednesday.
Sabrina Vumbacco landed on the First Team, making her a three-time All-Patriot League honoree (2023 First Team, 2022 First Team, 2020 Second Team). Catherine Craig also became a three-time All-League Team member (2023 Second Team, 2022 Second Team, 2020 First Team). Abby Doss and Esme Hunter were both recognized for a second straight year, while Caroline McGann earned a spot on the list for the first time in her career.
Bucknell tied with Lehigh for the third-most All-Patriot League honorees behind only Navy (12) and Army (8). Boston U. was next with four, followed by American (1) and Loyola (1).
Of this year's All-Patriot League honorees, three won medals in individual events: Vumbacco (gold in 1650 freestyle, silver in 500 freestyle), Doss (bronze in 400 IM), and Hunter (bronze in 100 backstroke). Four of the Bison recognized won medals as part of relay teams.

First Team
Sabrina Vumbacco – 42 points
- 2nd in 500 freestyle, 12th in 200 freestyle, 1st in 1650 freestyle
- 3rd in 200 medley relay, 3rd in 800 freestyle relay, 5th in 400 medley relay
Second Team
Catherine Craig – 27 points
- 5th in 200 breaststroke, 6th in 400 IM
Abby Doss – 31 points
- 3rd in 400 IM, 7th in 200 breaststroke, 14th in 200 IM
- 3rd in 800 freestyle relay
Esme Hunter – 29.5 points
- t-3rd in 100 backstroke, 6th in 200 backstroke, 16th in 200 IM
- 3rd in 400 freestyle relay, 3rd in 200 medley relay, 4th in 200 freestyle relay, 5th in 400 medley relay
Caroline McGann – 37 points
- 5th in 1650 freestyle, 7th in 200 freestyle, 8th in 500 freestyle
- 3rd in 800 freestyle relay
