
Women's Swim & Dive in Third Place Entering Final Day of PL Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior Abby Doss earned a bronze medal in the 400 IM, while fellow junior Esme Hunter tied for third place in the 100 backstroke to help the Bison maintain their position after three days of the Patriot League Championships. Bucknell has totaled 324.5 points through Friday's events, trailing only Army (400.5) and Navy (543.5).

Doss' 4:21.41 helped the Bison collect their third bronze medal of the meet, as she trailed second-place finisher Sarah Hardy of Lehigh (4:19.64) and champion Haley Newman of Boston (4:16.04). Teammate Catherine Craig finished sixth in the race with a 4:26.63.
Bucknell's 200 freestyle relay, involving Kayla Lichtner, Sophia Donati, Alexandra Ritorto and Esme Hunter, ended the night with an outstanding 1:33.04 to rank second all-time in the Bison record book. The team took fourth in the event behind Navy, Army and Boston.
Hunter's 55.14 in the 100 backstroke ranks sixth in school history, and she touched the wall simultaneously with Army's Layne Peterson to claim a share of the bronze medal.
Caroline McGann added another impressive finals finish, taking seventh in the 200 freestyle with the seventh-best time in program history (1:49.98), and Skye Sunderhauf grabbed seventh as well in the 400 IM (4:27.74).
Liz Dokina took eighth in the 100 breaststroke, registering a 1:03.11 to rank third in school history.
The final day of the championships open up at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, beginning with the 200 backstroke prelims.
