LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison men's track & field dominated the Bucknell Tune-Up by winning six events and obtaining seven IC4A qualifications in preparation for next weekend's Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships.Â

"We got exactly what we were looking for today," said head coach Kevin Donner. "We took a conservative approach to this meet and had a lot of different missions, and most were accomplished. We had people who hit their season and lifetime bests in their events. Some athletes put their names in the conversation for a Patriot League roster spot. We asked the team to make our decision-making harder, and they did just that."
The Bison reinforced their collection of IC4A qualifications by earning additional honors. Brandon Foust and Cooper Hyken won IC4A participation in the 60 Meter Dash. Foust won first (6.93), and Hyken took home second (6.95). Both runners narrowly missed setting personal bests. Colby Belczyk finished first in the 500 Meter Run with a time of 1:05.87. Brian Scotto took home first in the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.23. The time was only 0.02 seconds away from his best time. Cameron Sloan finished fourth in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 22.64.Â
Two throwers also obtained IC4A qualifications. Braden Stryker threw for a mark of 52-04.50 in the Shot Put, which earned him second place. In the Weight Throw, Robert Feeney placed second on a toss of 59-03.50.Â
Three more Bison athletes won gold: Gardy Philogene and Max Spaulding tied each other in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 51.79, and Grant Ellis leaped to top honors in the High Jump (6-05.00).Â
There were two other performances of note. Seth Hoffritz finished second in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 1:57.55. Brian Scotto punctuated his excellent evening with a third-place finish in the Long Jump on a leap of 21-02.50.Â
