"I thought our women had a fantastic day," said head coach Kevin Donner. "Big breakout day for Gray in Triple Jump and Kates in the High Jump. Also, we had breakout days for Clarke in the mile and Paczewski in the 3000. Hull continues to be great in hurdles, and Quinn and Lalonde were good in 60 and 200. It is always nice to end the day with a 4x400 win as well. We seem to be jelling and coming together as a team."
Two student-athletes wrote themselves into the Bucknell record book. In the High Jump, Abby Kates leaped to a mark of (5'7"), which won the event and placed her fourth in Bucknell history. After setting a personal record last week, Bridget Lalonde topped her best time in the 200 Meter Dash. Her new personal best time of 25.07 is 0.12 seconds better than the previous effort. Lalonde remains eighth all-time in Bucknell history for the event. The time finished Lalonde fifth at the meet.Â
Karen Hull notched another win in the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.78. It is 0.04 seconds off her personal record. The time earned the hurdler an ECAC qualification.Â
A duo of runners finished second in their events while receiving postseason qualifications. Meghan Quinn raced to silver in the 60 Meter Dash with a time of 7.65. The mark earned her ECAC qualification while only being 0.02 from a new personal record. Katherine Loew grabbed second-place laurels and ECAC qualification in the 500 Meter Dash. Her time of 1:15.65 was one second away from first place.Â
Another trio of athletics landed themselves qualification for the ECAC championships. In the 400 Meter Dash, Jessie Castellano raced to third with a time of 57.04. and narrowly missed setting a new personal record. Ally Clarke finished third in the Mile Run with a time of 4:58.37. In the 3000 Meter Run, Abby Paczewski earned bronze off a time of 9:54.44.Â
Several other athletes performed admirably at the Invitational. The Bucknell "A" Team of Mackenzie Turner, Katherine Loew, Alison Cooke, and Anna Posh in the 4x400 Meter Relay grabbed first place (3:54.91). Mariana Engleby, in the 1000 Meter Run, placed second with a time of 3:00.20. Siobhan O'Sullivan threw herself into third place off a mighty heave of (44' 9.75").
