LEWISBURG, Pa.-Â Acknowledgment of libero Jordan Hardy's historic season continues with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) christening the junior with Northeast All-Region Honorable Mention. It is the first time a Bucknell player has received AVCA recognition.
Hardy dominated the defensive backline for the Bison. The junior led the Patriot League in digs with 537 and digs per set (5.54). The digs per set mark currently ranks seventh nationally. It is the second straight season where the libero ranked top nationally in digs per set. In 2022, Hardy finished fifth. As a team, Bucknell ranks third nationally in digs per set (17.84).
Her success resulted in Hardy earning Patriot League Libero of the Year and First Team All-Patriot League honors. Hardy became the first Bison in team history to earn PL Libero of the Year and the first Bucknell recipient since Heidi Kamp in 2010 to notch First Team laurels. Stellar in the classroom, Hardy also received a slot on the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
The libero's legendary season played a massive role in Bucknell volleyball having its best season in years. The Bison went 15-11 overall and 11-5 in Patriot League play. Bucknell finished tied for second, its highest league placement since 2003. Bucknell hosted its first Patriot League Tournament game since 2000, ended league-winner Colgate's 33-game home winning streak, obtained a 2-0 road PL weekend for the first season since 2005, and racked up four 2-0 weekends overall.
Hardy has rocketed up the lists in Bucknell's history. She ranks second in career digs (1511) behind Bucknell legend Brandi Trapasso's 1588. Her 511 digs in 2023 are fourth in Bison single-season history. Hardy owns two spots on the top five lists. She ranks second from her 591 digs in 2022.
The Bison return to action in fall 2024.Â
