Charlie Holmes Earns All-Patriot League Men's Soccer Honors

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore forward Charlie Holmes earned a spot on the 2023 All-Patriot League Men's Soccer Team on Friday. Holmes was a Third Team selection, marking his first career all-league honor.
Holmes was one of the top attacking players in the conference this season. He started all 16 games for the Bison and recorded three goals and two assists for a team-high eight points. He also led the team in shot attempts with 20.
Holmes scored the game-winning goal in Bucknell's 2-1 opening-night win over Mount St. Mary's, and he later added goals against Robert Morris and American. In Wednesday's 2-1 win at Lehigh to close out the regular season, he assisted on Marco Valentic's go-ahead goal in the 83rd minute.
Patriot League regular-season champion Boston University collected four of the six major awards on Friday. Eitan Rosen was chosen as the Offensive Player of the Year, Griffin Roach was named Defensive Player of the Year, Francesco Montali was named Goalkeeper of the Year, and Kevin Nylen was the choice for Coach of the Year. Navy's David Jackson was named Midfielder of the Year, and Loyola's Chris Ogor was tabbed as the Rookie of the Year.
