LEWISBURG, Pa.- Catherine Jamison repeated as the Patriot League Player of the Week the conference office announced Tuesday. The senior outside hitter led Bucknell to another 2-0 weekend to stretch the team's winning streak to six games. The Bison swept Loyola (Md.) and defeated Navy in four sets avenging a previous defeat to the Midshipmen. Bucknell now sits 13-9 overall and 9-4 in PL play, only one game behind first-place Army and Colgate.Â
Jamison was menacing on the court to opposing players, collecting 32 kills over the two games with a hitting percentage near .400. She posted 12 kills against Loyola (Md.) on a hitting percentage of .409. Against Navy, the senior reaped a season-high 20 kills to sink the Midshipmen. Jamison provided defensive help with nine blocks on the weekend, often teaming up with last week's PL Rookie of the Week Sidney Shaffer, denying opponent attacks.Â
The outside hitter is having a banner year. She ranks third in the PL in kills (270) and fifth in points (300.5). Her 270 kills are a new single-season career high, and the mark leads the Bison. Jamison currently has career single-season highs in kills per set (3.21) and hitting percentage (.252).Â
Jamison became the first Bison to win Player of the Week twice in the same season since Karen Campbell did in 2015. Additionally, she is the first Bucknell player ever to win the award in back-to-back weeks.Â
Jamison and the Bison wrap up their regular season home schedule with two games this weekend against Lafayette (Nov. 4) and Lehigh (Nov. 5). Lehigh will serve as Senior Day, where Jamison and four other seniors will be honored.Â
