Perinotti's Heptathlon Victory Highlights Final Day of the Bison Open

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison men's track & field team finished day two of the Bison Open with several impressive individual results.Â
Results
"Overall, it was a very successful weekend, and we accomplished many of our missions and goals," said head coach Kevin Donner. "Some people needed to rest this weekend, and others needed to compete. Some people are trying to prove themselves for future travel squads, and others could compete in secondary events to set themselves up for next week. Lots of questions were answered, as we are now less than a month out from the league championships."
Track Events
Franco Perinotti finished first in the heptathlon with 4655 points. His amount is now seventh-best in Bucknell history and was 19 points better than his previously personal-best mark. His victory was one of three wins for the men's team during the second day of competition.
Zachary Jelinek brought home gold for the Bison in the 500m Run. His time of 1:06.71 was four seconds better than the second-place finisher.Â
In the 1000m Run, Seth Hoffritz earned first place due to a time of 2:37.22, which was two seconds ahead of the second-place runner.Â
Cooper Hyken placed third (7.04) in the 60m Dash. Teammate Brandon Foust earned IC4A qualification in the event during the preliminaries with a time of 6.98.Â
Thomas White brought home sixth in the Mile Run with a time of 4:24.42.
Field Events
Both Robert Feeney and John Calisi earned IC4A qualification in the Weight Throw. Feeney tossed the weight for a mark of 59-02.25, and Calisi threw for a placement of 55-08.25.Â
Wade Shomper finished sixth in the Shot Put (50-04.75).
Chris Sims leaped to third place in the High Jump with his mark of 45-02.50.Â

The Bison return to action next weekend on Feb 4. with the Scarlet and White Invitational hosted by Boston University.Â
