Bucknell's Vumbacco Earns PL Female Swimmer of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior Sabrina Vumbacco was named the Patriot League Female Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday following her performance at last Saturday's 181-109 dual win over rival Lehigh.
Vumbacco captured two individual wins and swam the third leg of Bucknell's winning 200 medley relay team. It's the second time the Port Chester, N.Y. native has received a Patriot League weekly honor in her career and the first time since her freshman season.
Vumbacco swam the butterfly leg of the medley relay, joining teammates Esme Hunter, Alexandra Ritorto and Sophia Donati to score 11 points with a 1:46.83. She later touched the wall first in the 200 freestyle with a 1:52.49, coming in nearly three seconds faster than Lehigh's second-place finisher and adding nine points to the Bison total.
She poured on nine more points with a top finish in the 500 freestyle, clocking a 5:03.08 and again edging a second-place Lehigh swimmer.
Bucknell is back home this weekend to host the Bison Invite at Kinney Natatorium on Saturday, Jan. 28.
