Volleyball's Bri Frazilus Earns Patriot League Rookie of the Week, Named Bison of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell volleyball freshman Bri Frazilus was named the Patriot League Volleyball Rookie of the Week on Tuesday after a few outstanding performances during the opening weekend of competition. In addition, Frazilus was named the first Bison of the Week of the 2022-23 athletics season.
Frazilus, an outside hitter from Cary, N.C., was a driving force in Bucknell's 3-0 weekend at Saint Francis' Red Flash Classic. She led the team with 42 kills (4.2 kills/set) and finished second on the roster with 32 digs (3.2 digs/set).
Frazilus posted two double-doubles, including a 14-kill, 16-dig performance in her first collegiate match against Bellarmine. She was even better in the win over Gardner-Webb, supplying a match-high 22 kills and 11 digs while maintaining a .514 hitting percentage. Frazilus also added three block assists to her weekend total.
Following Saturday's final match, Frazilus was voted to the Red Flash Classic All-Tournament Team. She was joined by Bucknell junior Catherine Jamison as well as sophomore Jordan Hardy, who earned Tournament MVP recognition. Hardy finished with 64 digs on the weekend with seven service aces, while Jamison totaled 33 kills and a .273 hitting percentage.
Bucknell's 3-0 start is its best since 2017. The Bison are back in action this weekend when they host LIU, George Washington and NJIT at Davis Gym for the Bucknell Invitational. Bucknell's first match of the tournament is against the Colonials at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2.
