BETHLEHEM, Pa. – 16 members of the Bucknell softball team earned spots on the 2022 Spring Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league announced Monday. The 16 honorees ties Boston University for the most qualifying athletes among Patriot League softball programs this year.
To be named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have achieved a minimum 3.20 GPA during the semester in which their team competed. This marks the fifth-consecutive academic year the League has topped 3,000 honor roll selections. Bucknell recorded a League-high 460 student-athletes on the academic honor roll in 2021-22, including 311 during the winter-spring season.
The Bison softball program posted a 3.55 team GPA during the spring semester, and 11 student-athletes reached Dean's List status with a 3.5 or higher. Among those was 2022 Academic All-Patriot league selection Chase Knapp. Additionally, freshman Bella Radican, junior Olivia Marinelli, sophomore Hunter Vestal and senior Kelly Toomey all achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA.
This is the third consecutive season that Bucknell softball has placed 15 or more student-athletes on the honor roll.
