LEWISBURG, Pa. – Brandon Foust was named the Patriot League Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week after securing wins in two events at the Maroon & Gold Invite over the weekend, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Foust beat out seven other runners in the 100 with an IC4A qualifying time of 10.87 and finished ahead of 10 others in the 200 with a 22.34 at the Bloomsburg meet. The first-year Bison out of Harriton High School in Rosemont, Pa. was .07 seconds ahead of teammate Matthew Perello in the 100 and .16 seconds ahead of Bloomsburg's second-place finisher in the 200. They were the first two victories of Foust's career.
Foust took part in just one indoor meet over the winter, but he's competed in all six weekends this spring and has earned top three finishes in the 4x100 and the 4x400.
Robert Feeney was an honorable mention for Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week. The sophomore won the hammer throw at the Maroon & Gold Invite with a toss of 185-4, which ranks eighth in program history.
Up next, Bucknell competes at the 2022 Outdoor Patriot League Track & Field Championships. Events begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 6.
